SmartWorks Partners wrapped up a DDOT Streetlight Conditions Assessment Project with the District of Columbia in late 2020. DDOT Streetlight Division advisor KPMG contracted SmartWorks to perform a conditions assessment audit of existing streetlight infrastructure located primarily in the ROW throughout D.C.
Over 71,000 lighting structures were assessed and assigned a ratings score based on a previously defined scoring criteria. Field inspectors completed the initial field audits with the help of an original field survey tool and application created by SmartWorks and OneVizion. Over 1.5 million data points were collected, including over 700,000 field photos, and catalogued as part of the overall program goals after undergoing additional quality control reviews. The final results will be shared with interested service providers seeking to partner with the city as part of an advanced overall LED upgrade project.
